PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying different types of surgery to compare how well they work in treating patients with stage IA non-small cell lung cancer.

Hormone Therapy + Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer

This randomized phase III trial studies the best individual therapy for women who have node-negative, estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer by using a special test (Oncotype DX), and whether hormone therapy alone or hormone therapy together with combination chemotherapy is better for women who have an Oncotype DX recurrence score of 11-25. Estrogen can cause the growth of breast cancer cells. Hormone therapy may fight breast cancer by blocking the use of estrogen by the tumor cells or by lowering the amount of estrogen the body makes. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving hormone therapy together with more than one chemotherapy drug (combination chemotherapy) has been shown to reduce the chance of breast cancer recurrence, but the benefit of adding chemotherapy to hormone therapy for women with node-negative, estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer is small. New tests may provide information about which patients are more likely to benefit from chemotherapy.

Targeted Treatment for Prostate Cancer

This phase II trial evaluates whether genetic testing in prostate cancer is helpful in deciding which study treatment patients are assigned. Patient cancer tissue samples are obtained from a previous surgery or biopsy procedure and tested for deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) abnormalities or mutations in their cancer. Valemetostat tosylate is in a class of medications called EZH1/EZH2 inhibitors. It blocks proteins called EZH1 and EZH2, which may help slow or stop the spread of tumor cells. Carboplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works in a way similar to the anticancer drug cisplatin, but may be better tolerated than cisplatin. Carboplatin works by killing, stopping or slowing the growth of tumor cells. Cabazitaxel injection is in a class of medications called microtubule inhibitors. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of tumor cells. Abiraterone acetate blocks tissues from making androgens (male hormones), such as testosterone. This may cause the death of tumor cells that need androgens to grow. It is a type of anti-androgen. Enzalutamide is in a class of medications called androgen receptor inhibitors. It works by blocking the effects of androgen (a male reproductive hormone) to stop the growth and spread of tumor cells. Lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan is in a class of medications called radiopharmaceuticals. It works by targeting and delivering radiation directly to tumor cells which damages and kills these cells. Assigning patients to targeted treatment based on genetic testing may help shrink or slow the cancer from growing

Telisotuzumab Vedotin for Lung Cancer

Cancer is a condition where cells in a specific part of body grow and reproduce uncontrollably. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a solid tumor, a disease in which cancer cells form in the tissues of the lung. The purpose of this study is to assess how safe telisotuzumab vedotin is in adult participants with NSCLC. Change in disease activity and adverse events will be assessed. Telisotuzumab vedotin is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of NSCLC. Participants will be randomly assigned a treatment of telisotuzumab vedotin in 1 of 3 arms at an 1:1:1 ratio. Each group receives intravenous (IV) infusion of telisotuzumab vedotin at different doses. Approximately 150 adult participants with c-Met overexpressing NSCLC will be enrolled in the study at approximately 70 to 80 sites worldwide. Participants will receive IV telisotuzumab vedotin at 1 of 3 dose regimens as part of a 3 year study duration. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects and completing questionnaires.

Targeted Therapy for Solid Tumors

This ComboMATCH patient screening trial is the gateway to a coordinated set of clinical trials to study cancer treatment directed by genetic testing. Patients with solid tumors that have spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) or have spread to other places in the body (advanced) and have progressed on at least one line of standard systemic therapy or have no standard treatment that has been shown to prolong overall survival may be candidates for these trials. Genetic tests look at the unique genetic material (genes) of patients' tumor cells. Patients with some genetic changes or abnormalities (mutations) may benefit from treatment that targets that particular genetic mutation. ComboMATCH is designed to match patients to a treatment that may work to control their tumor and may help doctors plan better treatment for patients with locally advanced or advanced solid tumors.
