Exercise for Peripheral Neuropathy

This phase II trial studies whether using exercise is better than the usual approach for treating chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). CIPN occurs when chemotherapy damages the nerves communicating between the brain, spinal cord, and the rest of the body. The usual approach for treating CIPN is treatment with drugs that help reduce symptoms of other types of neuropathy (for example, from diabetes). However, these drugs do not treat all symptoms of CIPN. Exercise may help to reduce CIPN symptoms.

Palliative Care Delivery Methods for Advanced Cancer

This trial studies the delivery of the ENABLE palliative care program by two different methods called a Virtual Learning Collaborative or Technical Assistance for patients with advanced cancer and their caregivers. Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with a serious illness that occurs at the same time as other medical treatment. The purpose of palliative care is to provide relief from symptoms and stress of serious illness, to help patients and their families clarify goals of care, and to focus on social support and spiritual well-being. The focus of the ENABLE palliative care program is on living well, managing stress, patient communication of their personal values and hopes for care, social support, and symptom management. This study may help doctors find the best ways to include palliative care services into their practices and the impact of palliative care on cancer patients and their caregivers' quality of life.

Surgery vs Active Monitoring for Low-Risk Ductal Carcinoma In Situ

Letrozole for Hormone Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer

RATIONALE: Estrogen can cause the growth of breast cancer cells. Hormone therapy using letrozole may fight breast cancer by lowering the amount of estrogen the body makes. It is not yet known whether letrozole is more effective than a placebo in treating patients with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying letrozole to see how well it works compared with a placebo in treating postmenopausal women who have received hormone therapy for hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.

Ramipril for Memory Loss in Glioblastoma Patients

This study is to determine if an oral drug called Ramipril can lower the chance of memory loss in patients with glioblastoma getting chemoradiation. Patients will take Ramipril during chemoradiation and continue until 4 months post-treatment. Memory loss will be assessed using several neurocognitive tests throughout the duration of the study.

Ixazomib + Lenalidomide for Multiple Myeloma

Belpre, Ohio
This phase III trial studies how well lenalidomide in combination with ixazomib works compared to lenalidomide alone in treating patients with evidence of residual multiple myeloma after stem cell transplantation. Lenalidomide may help shrink or slow the growth of multiple myeloma. Ixazomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving lenalidomide and ixazomib together may work better than giving lenalidomide alone in treating patients with evidence of residual multiple myeloma after a stem cell transplantation.

Rucaparib for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

This phase II Lung-MAP trial studies how well rucaparib works in treating patients with genomic loss of heterozygosity (LOH) high and/or deleterious BRCA1/2 mutation stage IV non-small cell lung cancer or that has come back. Rucaparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

Cisplatin + Veliparib for Breast Cancer

This randomized phase II trial studies how well cisplatin works with or without veliparib in treating patients with triple-negative breast cancer and/or BRCA mutation-associated breast cancer that has come back (recurrent) or has or has not spread to the brain (brain metastases). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. PARPs are proteins that help repair DNA mutations. PARP inhibitors, such as veliparib, can keep PARP from working, so tumor cells can't repair themselves, and they may stop growing. It is not yet known if cisplatin is more effective with or without veliparib in treating patients with triple-negative and/or BRCA mutation-associated breast cancer.

Radiation Therapy + Cisplatin for Endometrial Cancer

This randomized phase II trial studies radiation therapy and cisplatin to see how well they work compared with radiation therapy alone in treating patients with endometrial cancer that has come back. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays and other types of radiation to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether giving radiation therapy together with cisplatin is more effective than radiation therapy alone in treating patients with endometrial cancer.
