What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This trial focuses on testing the WYSH Web Application, a new tool designed to assist with care planning for individuals who have undergone hypospadias surgery (a condition where the urethra's opening is not at the tip of the penis and requires surgical repair). The study aims to assess the feasibility and user-friendliness of this application for participants. It seeks males who have previously had hypospadias surgery. Those who meet this criterion and are willing to test the app may be suitable candidates. As an unphased trial, this study offers a unique opportunity to contribute to developing a tool that could enhance care planning for others with similar experiences.

Do I need to stop my current medications to join the trial?

The trial information does not specify whether you need to stop taking your current medications. It's best to discuss this with the trial coordinators or your doctor.

What prior data suggests that the WYSH Web Application is safe for use in individuals with repaired hypospadias?

Research has shown that the WYSH Web Application, featuring a Care Planning Tool, assists individuals with a history of repaired hypospadias. Experts contributed to its development to ensure its trustworthiness and usefulness. As a digital app, not a drug or surgery, it has no reported physical side effects. The app involves answering questions, emphasizing user experience over physical safety. Participants share information through a survey, which is generally safe.12345

Why are researchers excited about this trial?

Researchers are excited about the WYSH Web Application because it offers a novel way to support individuals with repaired hypospadias. Unlike traditional treatments that focus on surgical repair, the WYSH app is designed to provide ongoing psychological and educational support through a digital platform. This approach aims to improve quality of life by addressing emotional and social aspects of living with hypospadias, which are often overlooked in standard care. By utilizing technology, the WYSH app can offer personalized resources and support, making it accessible and convenient for users across different age groups.

What evidence suggests that the WYSH Web Application is effective for hypospadias?

Research has shown that individuals who have undergone surgery for hypospadias often face significant physical and emotional challenges as they age. These challenges can affect their quality of life, making ongoing support and monitoring crucial. This trial tests the WYSH Web Application, which includes a Care Planning Tool designed to address these challenges. The tool aims to manage these issues effectively. Although direct data on the app's effectiveness is limited, it focuses on improving the lives of those who have had hypospadias surgery by addressing their specific needs.12346
